China Visa Photo Size in 2020
There are 2 different types of photo that you need to apply for China Visa:
- The digital photo
- The paper photo
A digital photo is needed when you upload your personal information online. But there are only a few countries can apply for China Visa online, so I will not discuss too many details about the digital photo.
If you are a U.S. passport holder, you only need to take the paper photo.
Here is the specific size of the digital and paper photo, according to the China embassy:
The digital photo
The digital photo should be between 354 pixels (width) * 472 pixels (height) and 420 pixels (width) * 560 pixels (height) .
The paper photo
The paper photo should be 33 mm (width) * 48 mm (height).
Can I Use a 2×2 Photo for Chinese Visa?
Unfortunately, there is only one correct size of China Visa, which is 33 mm (width) * 48 mm (height).
I know that many of you apply for the Visa with the help of the agency and some of the agency may ask you to submit a 2×2 inches photo. The agency might cut your photo to the correct size to save your time, or they do nothing but with the help of the god, their wrong size photos alway work.
Considering your own sake, I suggest you use a 33 mm (width) * 48 mm (height) paper photo if you apply for China Visa by yourself.
However, if your agency tells you to submit a 2×2 inches photo, you can follow their orders.
